Property Tax Calendar

The schedule for when property taxes are due in Santa Clara, San Mateo & Alameda Counties is as follows:

    Beginning of fiscal year: July 1st
    First installment of taxes is due November 1 (delinquent December 10th)
           this installment covers July 1 – December 31st
    Second installment of taxes is due February 1 (delinquent April 10th)
           this installment covers Jan 1 – June 30

Note: The two bills are NOT due & payable 6 months apart.

It is possible to pay your property taxes online, but there is an additional significant cost for this convenience.  BUT the additional cost is less than the penalty of a late installment payment. SO if you've run up against the deadline, this is a viable option.
